Origin Details:
These burned irregular seeds were found in trash pit deposits associated with a late 19th century/early 20th century house location. Seeds measure ~ 3.2 mm in length, 3.5 mm in width, and 2.0 mm in thickness. They have a smooth surface and a distinctive thick seed coat with vertically aligned palisade cells. They may have come from a small fleshy berry. Any suggestions as to what they might be? European or Asian import?
